Avid Media Composer 2026.8 is focused on helping editors move faster, collaborate with more flexibility, and scale into the workflows their teams need. This release brings fully supported and secure collaboration across shared storage solutions with Media Composer Enterprise, accelerates multicam editorial with PhraseFindAI Multicam Auto Cut, improves transcript control, and adds practical workflow enhancements that reduce friction across everyday editing.

Media Composer 2026.8 also removes previous limitations on tracks and resolutions in Media Composer First. Media Composer First gives aspiring editors a true no-cost entry point into professional editing, now with a more full-fledged editing experience that graduates more intuitively into additional features or Standard, Ultimate, and Enterprise.

This release includes a new in-app What’s New window with feature highlights, grouped sections, and links to learning resources, making it easier for editors to understand new capabilities and start using them.
