Avid in FCPv7’s Clothing

You switched from FCPv7 but now instinctively press the wrong keys and reach for buttons that are’t there? By Customizing Media Composer, it can act a bit more like FCPv7.

In this tutorial from Avid’s Canadian Training Partner, Splice Training, we learn how to customize the appearance of the Timeline and Composer Monitor, as well as restore the Previous/Next Clip keyboard shortcuts all while working towards the aim of making Media Composer look and act a bit more like FCPv7.

Authors note: I don’t really think it’s in your best interest to whip away all the buttons and toolbars in an effort to make MC look closer to FCPv7, but ultimately do what you need to in order to be most productive with your storytelling tool.
