Media Composer® 7 ‒ Background Media Processing ‒ Avid®

Spend more time being creative by automating media tasks in the background.

Gain more time for creativity with new features that accelerate and simplify file-based workflows. With Dynamic Media Folders, non-creative media tasks such as transcoding, copying, and consolidating can be automated in the background, without disrupting your editorial flow. Plus, you’ll get peace of mind as Media Composer now fully manages AMA-linked media as reliably as it does with native Avid media.

The most trusted tool of professional editors, Media Composer 7 opens your possibilities even further, accelerating high-res and file-based workflows and extending real-time production everywhere—now starting at $999.

Lose the music, it is very distracting.
    background media processing :
you said operations can be sent to the editor transcode service, but you did not explain how exactly to do this. How do you send “operations” to the “editor transcode service.” is this online or in the machine? where does it exist?

what button do you push, or is it a menu item.? do you have to subscribe to this service and set it up in advance. this video, like most avid tutorials, merely tells us what the software “can” do, without providing clear step by step instructions of the workflow the editor has to perform.

Hi Patrice, I don’t make the videos. I just collect them.
But there are others on the same subjct if you find the music distracting.
Click on the left side here under “Taggd with”.
or search for transcoding or background and you will find other videos.
