Media Composer | Display Color Space

This video will show you how to change the Display Color Space for Full Screen Playback, Source, and Record in Avid Media Composer.

The Display Color Space does not change our media, it lets us view our edit in different color spaces so we will KNOW what our video will look like once we export it. These setting are independent of each other.

It is very important to be aware of the Display Color Space options, if you happen to view your media in REC 709 (LEGAL – 16-235) color space, but then export to full range (0-255), you may end up with a video that is too dark. The same thing can happen the other way where you end up with a video that looks washed out, this is very important for web and YouTube uploads.
